The state of Utah has been producing top junior golfers for a while, but they've been on fire recently. Cooper Jones is the latest. The senior from Lone Peak High School is considered to be one of the best putters in the country, by many. BYU Director of Golf Todd Miller mentioned, "he is an incredibly consistent player and always finds a way to be near the lead. He is an excellent ball-striker, but his putter is what makes him one of the top recruits in the country."Jones is currently ranked as the No. 23 junior golfer in the world, via Junior Golf Scoreboard
At Lone Peak, he is a four-time First Team All-State honoree and four-time state champion. Cooper is a proven winner, and golf is in his roots, as his older brother Zac Jones is a current sophomore at BYU.
Cooper has won the UJGA Opener, an IMG Junior World Qualifier, Fairways Preview, and the Johnny Miller Championship. At the Dustin Johnson World Junior he finished 3rd with rounds of 70-72-70, finishing behind Jack Roberts and Benjamin James. At the Jones Cup Junior Invitational Cooper tied for 7th, and finished 8th at the Junior Americas Cup.
Jones is a proven winner, and will continue to do so as his career progresses.
