Palmer Haynes, a rising senior from Orlando, Florida has committed to the University of Central Florida after a strong showing at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Junior at Bay Hill. Haynes is currently ranked as the No.16 member in Florida's 2024 class and attends The First Academy in Orlando.
Haynes started 2023 off on the right foot with a 4th place finish at the Florida Junior Tour MLK Major, shooting rounds of 81-74-73 (228). In July, he competed in the Florida Junior Amateur Championship and the Mizuno/Keith Mitchell Junior Championship finishing top in the top-thirty in both.
Last year, Palmer won the Florida Junior Amateur Match Play, placed 3rd at the FJT Black Diamond 54-hole major, 4th at the PGA Golf Club 54-hole major, and 5th at the Amelia Island Open.
This week, Haynes participated in the Arnold Palmer Invitational Junior at Bay Hill and placed T8. The tournament was full of many familiar names with Sterling Hurd, Shawn Coultoff, and Reggie Zhu leading the way.
